The Elle style awards have just passed for another year and it was a feast of playful colour, texture and controversy! Christina Hendricks (above) resembled her Mad Men character Joan in vintage Caroline Herrara. Imagine if she'd worn matching purple silk stilettos?

Pixie Geldof wowed the crowd in a body-hugging dress covered in a chilli print - again I would have loved to see red, green or even purple shoes over classic black!

I loved Poppy's dress enormously, with it's fabulous contrasting digital floral print, and those shoes!! A fun take on ankle boots that was both modern and feminine enough for the dress and the event.
