DESIGN EYE: PASTELS

Pastels and particularly saturated pastels were big on the runways for 2012, with labels like Herve, Minkoff and Diane von Furstenburg, showing us how to best use the soft palette. 

We've pulled together some of our favorite pastel designs so that you can join the trend this season in your very own way! The first pair of shoes are an icing-pink pair of ballet flats that take me all the way back to ballet class on a Saturday morning. High buns, soft pink leotards, stockings and skirts... what's not to love about this memory? 

Pastel blue has always been a fresh, favorite colour of mine. I love that it's a little "old world" and great change of scene from black.
