Gretchen Jones for Shoes of Prey New York Fashion Week 2013

We're excited to reveal the debut of our collaboration with designer Gretchen Jones on the catwalk in New York!

A previous winner of Project Runway, Jones has since spun her '70s-tinged Americana into successful ready-to-wear and jewellery lines as planet-conscious as they are pretty. For her spring/summer 2013 collaboration with Shoes of Prey, the designer offered more of her signature earthy style - with a playful new edge.

"It’s very important to me to create ‘identity pieces’ for my customer, pieces worth investing in, that can be interpreted by their wearer in different ways," Jones explained. "The modern woman wants a closet that can and does work within itself, in a way that too is sustainable."

This season the Brooklyn-based creative presented exactly that in the form of soft, flowing lengths teamed with wooden wedges in three irresistible colour combinations: fuchsia/tobacco, cream/tobacco and jet black.

Grounded in soft leather, lifted by wood, we can see Jones's designs (and those incredible shoes) working with everything in our closets - from the worn-in denim cut-offs to the grass-stained tees. And that, we suspect, is exactly the way Jones likes it.
