Last night Shoes of Prey set up a "Shoe Bar" at the Commonwealth Bank hosted fundraising event, "Busting out for a cure", donating a percentage of profits for the evening to The Breast Cancer Institute of Australia (BCIA).

The event was hosted by Deborah Thomas, (current editor of the Australian Women’s Weekly) and the Chair of the Australia and New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group (ANZ BCTG) Scientific Advisory committee, Fran Boyle gave a great speech on the importance of Breast Cancer Research and how we can help.
BCIA support the national research programs of the Australian New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group. The Australian New Zealand Breast Cancer Trials Group (ANZ BCTG) is Australia’s only national research body conducting clinical trials for the cure and prevention of breast cancer.
With a Sex and the City theme (of course) there were shoes, tarot readings, makeup artists and a Champagne tasting of Laurent Perrier, which all made for a fabulous evening.
So as I'm sure you agree, it's a cause worth supporting! and, everyone in the room thought so too, as over the course of the night over $50,000 was raised for BCIA.
If you want to get involved, you can either make a donation or, you can register to be on Australia's first national online community research register. This means that you volunteer to be a candidate for a research trial - you don't have to have experienced Breast Cancer and you can nominate the kinds of trials you'd be willing to be apart of. Checkout the website here.
