STYLE SPOTTING: GOLDEN GLOBES 2012

The Golden Globe Awards for 2012 took place yesterday and we had our eyes fixed on the red carpet for couture and peeks of shoes alike. A very glamourous old-Hollywood feel emerged, with a largely subdued colour palette and stronger representation of more demure styles than in years past.

Above is Golden Globe winner Clare Danes for her role in Homeland. She's dressed by J Mendel and while we just couldn't get a peek at her shoes, these would have set off her red lipstick against her jet black dress:

Julie Bowen from Modern Family exuded classic Hollywood in her gown by Reem Acra - even though it was a step out of her comfort zone: “I’m trying to look like a girl,” she told Ryan Seacrest on E! Live from the Red Carpet. Again no shoes to be seen, so we're left to speculate. Given she's not a "girly girl" I'd avoid the typical strappy heel and try something chic and cute like this:

And last but not least, an exciting colour choice from Maria Menounos and finally, a peek at some shoes! They look to me like a luxe light pink silk peep-toe pump. A great choice that let's this dress pop!

I hope you enjoyed the Golden Globes for yet another year! What was your favorite look of the evening?
