TOWERING AND NOT-SO TOWERING HEELS

This week we've had a bit of discussion on the Shoes of Prey Facebook page about heel heights. It's definitely one of the most important things to consider when you're designing your shoes as it dictates alsot about the overall style, so I thought it was worth a post!

Our heels come in the following heights (which are also shown left to right in the above photo):

  • 1.5 inch
  • 2 inch
  • 2.5 inch
  • 3 inch
  • 3.5 inch
  • 4.5 inch
But there are some tips that are worth knowing when you are choosing your heel height:
  • if you want a 4.5 inch heel, then you have to have chosen a heel shape that also has a platform under the toe. This is because the lasts we use cannot accomodate a 4.5 inch heel without a platform. This is a discreet platform that will make wearing your towering heels much more comfortable.
  • Conversely, if you're attempting to design a shoe that has a 1.5-3.5 inch heel, but you're only getting options of 3.5-4.5 inch heels from our drop-down menu, then you need to select a heel shape that doesn't have a platform under the toes.
  • as you go into lower heels, the shape of the shoe does change a little.

Our most "classic" heel height is the 3 inch stiletto heel - it also happens to be the most comfortable heel in our range:

Our most on-trend heel is the 4.5 inch stiletto heel:

My favorite Summer heel is the 4.5 inch cork wedge:

My favorite Winter heel is a 3.5 inch square heel:

What heights do you wear, and why?
