It’s coming up to the northern hemisphere Summer break and with dreams of the clear blue mediterranean ocean in mind, it seems like the right time to consider the essential items that will make it into your suitcase.
I'd never leave home for a seaside holiday without a great, heavy, luxurious hair conditioner. Spending time in the sun and salty ocean means you're at risk of brittle tangles but just a little extra care will keep your hair lush! (I use Redken smooth down butter treatment - it feels and smells amazing!).
I love shopping for a new bikini at the onset of the Summer months, and I always make sure I have more than one packed! The first is my classic, black triangle bikini and then a fun printed/patterned one. This season I can't take my eyes off of this spectacular We Are Handsome two piece - it hit Net-A-Porter just last week, so get in quickly... (but not before me!!!).
If we're even a little alike, you'll spend most of your seaside days lounging by the ocean, drenched in the warm sunshine - which means that an ethereal cover up is essential for those quick trips inside for another fresh juice :) You might remember me blogging about a green cape back in January - this is also my choice of cover-up for a sea-side break!
Statement sunglasses like the ones in my moodboard above are a must to keep you from squinting all day long (and are a reliable way to ensure that photos always turn out well!)
The perfect summer dress. Now this can be a tough one - you need a dress that can translate from a more casual, soft, Summery day look to night time with a little glamour. I'll take a photo of the dress I am relying on to do this job for me and post it very soon!
Cork wedges can keep your perfect Summer dress looking casual for daytime events, and a pair of flats make the look perfect for wandering through cute seaside markets. A pair of high party shoes, pulling hair up and putting on some statement jewelry will pull it right into night time glamour!
So, now that we're packed, where will we go? What's your dream sea-side holiday destination?
