This month, the fabulous Hannah graces our homepage. She works at a Sydney based fashion advertising agency, running domestic campaigns on time, on budget in her Shoes of Prey heels. Hannah is a size 11 (European 42), so often finds it challenging to find great shoes in her size - a problem we've more than solved, with Hannah up to her fourth pair of Shoes of Prey! We took time out to catch up with Hannah about fashion, shoes and her favorite places to eat in Sydney.
Tell me a little bit about what you do?
I work in a fashion adversing agency, looking after client relationships and the workflow of projects - it's mostly a project management role.
How did you get into the industry?
I started out wanting to be a graphic designer, but ended up taking a course in advertising account management instead and decided I really loved it! I have a background in mainstream advertising, however I moved into the fashion/retail area a few years ago as it's something I can really relate to.
What do you like about what you do?
I love the creative environment and there is such a fantastic social aspect to our agency - it's great to be in such a fun place with like-minded people. I also love being in an area with so many great food options!
What are your tips for places to eat in Sydney?
Well, none of them are really high-end, but they are really fun, inexpensive and yummy:
- Arancini balls at The Golden Sheaf
- Pizza at The Beresford Hotel
- Corn fritters and smoked salmon from Candy Cafe
- Chicken Donburi and brown rice at Zushi
How do you connect with fashion and shoes?
I know it's trashy but I love reading celebrity gossip magazines! I also get inspired by what I see people wearing in the street. I always go up and ask someone if they are wearing something I'd love to own - in fact, it's how I found my current hairdresser!
As for shoes, it's always been a bit of a challenging relationship because I have size 11 feet, I am 6 feet tall and I definitely prefer comfort over fashion. It's hard to find shoes that are my size - most shops only go up to a 10. It's also hard to find heels that look great and don't have really high heels - otherwise I look way too tall!
We're thrilled to have Hannah on our homepage and even happier that we could help her find the perfect shoe. I hope you enjoyed meeting her!
